[TEST] I Spent 47 Minutes Brainstorming a Lanyard Empire

Written by My First Million | Oct 14, 2026, 2:47:10 PM

⚠️ This is a fake test post. It was generated to check blog layout, formatting, and image rendering. Nothing here is real, no episode of My First Million said any of this, and the "business ideas" are made up. Please do not invest in lanyards on this basis.

Welcome to the Test Episode

Hello, and welcome to a blog post that exists purely so a developer can confirm that headings, bullets, images, and block quotes render correctly. If you're reading this on a live site, someone forgot to delete it. Sorry about that.

My First Million is a real podcast about business ideas, trends, and the people who build companies. This post is not that podcast. It's a stand-in with the same general vibe: big ideas, small proof, and a suspicious number of spreadsheets.

Today's Totally Made-Up Business Ideas

Here are three ideas we invented in under a minute. Each one has been rated on a scientific scale that we also invented.

  1. Subscription Socks, But For Your Houseplants. Tiny knitted sweaters, shipped monthly. Market size: unknown. Plants: unbothered.
  2. A Newsletter About Newsletters. It summarizes other newsletters, and a second newsletter summarizes that one. Infinite growth loop.
  3. The Lanyard Marketplace. Yes, the lanyard. Conferences use millions of them. Nobody has thought about this. (Someone has. We didn't check.)

The Framework (Not a Real Framework)

Every good test post needs a framework. Ours has four steps:

  • Notice something annoying
  • Google it for 90 seconds
  • Pretend you validated the market
  • Ship a landing page before lunch

Some sub-points, for testing nested lists:

  • Landing page tips
    • Use a big headline
    • Add a button that says "Get Started"
    • Include a stock photo of someone laughing at a salad
  • Pricing tips
    • Pick a number
    • Double it
    • Feel nervous

A Quote, For Block Quote Styling

"This sentence is placeholder text and was not said by anyone, anywhere, ever."

— Nobody, Test Fixture Monthly

What We Learned

Almost nothing, but the formatting works. Here's what to verify if you're the developer reading this:

  • ✅ H1, H2 headings render
  • ✅ Ordered and unordered lists render
  • ✅ Nested bullets are indented
  • ✅ Block quote has its own style
  • ✅ Table fits on mobile
  • ⬜ Someone remembers to delete this post

Sign-Off

That's the end of the test post. If you made it this far, you've read roughly 400 words of lorem-ipsum-adjacent content, which is a personal best for most of us.

If you're looking for the real thing, go listen to the actual podcast. This page is just a placeholder wearing a trench coat.

Thanks for reading. Now go delete this post. 🗑️
